An interesting article by Michael Mosley from the UK newspaper ‘The Independent‘, on the power of authority.
In Damanhur, Oberto Airaudi (alias Falco) is the extreme voice of authority and his followers do his bidding WITHOUT QUESTION. It may seem ludicrous to those ‘outside’ but Damanhurians blindly accept his authority even though it causes them harm. They have been induced to believe that he is a divine and superior being.
They swear to give their own lives and are prepared to take the lives of others in order to protect him.
