As long as certain twisted souls feel the need to lie, cheat and manipulate the minds of others in order to achieve their ends some of us need to point it out.
This blog is a response to the marketing and propaganda campaigns of the Federation of Damanhur in Piedmont, Italy. It was founded in May of 2009.
It is said that “the truth is out there” but unfortunately it is not everywhere. Until this site was founded the truth about Damanhur (in English) was not to be found anywhere on the web.
‘Damanhur Inside Out’ brings you information on the reality of life inside this world famous esoteric group from former Damanhurians who have spent decades inside the Community. The majority of the posts have been translated from two important websites: the first, that of the Italian scientific magazine ’Focus’ www.focus.it which, in 2007 ran an article naming Damanhur as one of the most prominent ‘psicosetta’ (mind control cults) in Italy and the second, www.cesap.net the site of Italy’s Center for the Study of Psychological Abuse.
Recent articles on Damanhur by the Italian press have also been added with accompanying translations.
This material has not been made available to the English speaking world before. We publish it here to give everyone with an interest in Damanhur the opportunity to understand some of the life threatening mechanisms operating inside the Community.

I remember when i was a kid; i was on vacation to France and we went to Italy for a day, we actually drove past Damanhur from a distance (if i remember correctly). And my dad was talking about how this was a crazy cult with this huge underground illuminated complex… funny to read actual ex-insider testimonies about it now, more than 10 years later.
Thanks a lot for all this work you’re doing. I’m very interested in cults and New Age groups, particularly the psychological manipulation present in them. Your website is a great supply of info about this, and also pleasant to read. Keep it up!
